UCONN was attempting to complete the perfect season, but Tennessee wouldn't go down without a fight. After trailing for most of the second half, UCONN was able to take the lead. With UCONN leading by 5, Tennessee missed a crucial three pointer and Rebecca Lobo secured the rebound. Lobo was fouled and made a free throw to give UCONN a 6 point lead with 20 seconds remaining and the rest is history.
