It was Harbaugh's first season with the Blue and it seemed that he was going to start 1-0 in the rivalry. Leading with 10 seconds left, all Michigan had to do was punt the ball. A bobbled snap and a 38-yard return as time expired changed all of that as State stole an improbable win. What and ending.

OSU was #1 ranked team and 28 point favorites entering the contest. Leading 24-9 in the 3rd quarter, all was according to plan. Then MSU mounted a memorable comeback, culminating in an endzone interception which cemented the win, knocking out OSU of national championship considerations.
