Relive one of the greatest moments in San Francisco baseball history with this ceramic 11oz mug depicting this play:
2014 World Series Game 7
The Catch
San Francisco vs Kansas City
3 - 2
29 October, 2014
In true San Francisco scrappy style, Michael Morse singled in the bottom of the 4th advancing Hunter Pence and scoring Pablo Sandoval for the go-ahead run. But it was Madison Bumgarner who was the real hero. Bumgarner capped a record breaking postseason coming in on only 2 days rest to relieve Jeremy Affeldt and eventually to set a post-season record of 52 2/3 innings pitched. Bumgarner had already won his two starts in the World Series, allowing only 1 run and 7 hits over those two games, and now he entered in the bottom of the fifth to carry San Francisco once more. Over the next 5 innings he allowed only 3 runs and saved the World Series for San Francisco, getting Salvador Perez to pop up a foul ball that Pablo Sandoval caught for the final out of 2014. Jeremy Affeldt got the win.
