Fortunately for Toronto Joe Carter had roomed with Nixon before and knew he was likely to bunt. Carter told pitcher Mike Timlin to be ready. Timlin was and when Nixon bunted, Timlin easily fielded it and tossed it to Joe for the last out in the Series.
